Laura's Run

Background

The first “Laura’s Run” in March 2007 was organized by Laura’s family and friends as a celebration of her life.  Everyone agreed that it was a fun day of shared remembrances and family-friendly events.  The recurring question was, “Are we going to do this again next year?”  The answer was “Yes!”  So began the annual “Laura’s Run”, which now serves as the primary fund-raiser for the "Ambassador Program" at St. Joseph Hospital's Center for Thoracic Transplantation.

Description

“Laura’s Run” is held each March on a 5K course at Scottsdale Sports Complex located at 8081 E. Princess Drive, Scottsale, Arizona.

It is a 5K event for runners and a 1.5K course for walkers. The top three finishers in each age bracket will be awarded medals, and registered runners and walkers will receive a “Laura’s Run” T-shirt designed by Rick Kersten, well-known local artist and friend of Laura's Foundation.

In addition, there will be a  “Kids’ Dash" and the family pets are invited to join runners and walkers for a “Doggie Trot”.  There will be goodie bags for the children, treats for the dogs, complimentary refreshments for registered participants, live music, a silent auction, and raffle prizes.  It's  a morning full of fun for the whole family!
