Background

The first “Laura’s Run” in March 2007 was organized by Laura’s family and dear friends as a celebration of her life and legacy.  Everyone agreed that it was a fun day of shared remembrances and family-friendly events.  The recurring question was, “Are we going to do this again next year?”  The unanimous answer was “Yes!”  Thus began the annual “Laura’s Run”, which now serves as the primary fund-raiser for the Laura Burdick Foundation.

Description

“Laura’s Run” is a 5K course at the Scottsdale Sports Complex (View Map PDF) in Scottsdale, Arizona. There are events for runners and walkers, as well as a “Kid’s Dash”.  Prizes are awarded for the timed events.   In 2009, “Laura’s Doggie Run” was added so that the whole family can join in the fun.  All walk, run and dash registrants receive a “Laura’s Run” t-shirt, and there are goodie bags for the kids, special treats for the dogs, and a complimentary snack provided by Cactus Catering.  Live music and raffle prizes add to the festivity.
